Custom designed and manufactured by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in the UK, the NoIR Camera Board V2 features an ultra-high quality 8 megapixel Sony IMX219 image sensor capable of 3280 x 2464 pixel static images, and supports 1080p30, 720p60 and 640x480p90 video. And with no infrared filter, you can take stunning infrared photographs or capture objects in low light conditions with ease.
The module attaches to Raspberry Pi using a 15 Pin Ribbon Cable, to the dedicated 15-pin MIPI Camera Serial Interface (CSI) for extremely high data rates, carrying pixel data to the BCM2835 processor. Included in the box is a blue filter, 150mm CSI camera cable, and the camera board itself. The NoIR Camera v2 is supported in the latest version of Raspbian, Raspberry Pi’s preferred operating system, and getting started is a breeze with the included Picamera2 Python camera interface.
