Description
The Arduino UNO is a development board that incorporates the ATmega328P microcontroller, making it an ideal tool for individuals looking to learn electronics and coding. This board is designed to showcase the fundamental concepts behind sensors and actuators, and is the perfect introductory board for those new to the Arduino platform. However, it is also an excellent choice for experienced users who need a robust board for rapid prototyping.
The board is extremely simple to use. It comes with everything needed to support the ATmega328P microcontroller, and can be connected to a PC via USB cable or to an AC-to-DC battery. The Arduino Software (IDE) is included, making it easy to write and transfer code to the board. The board is sturdy, so it can be tinkered with without the fear of breaking it. Additionally, if something does go wrong, the chip can easily be replaced.
The board features a range of components, including the ATmega328P microcontroller, 14 digital I/O pins (six of which can be used as PWM outputs), six analogue inputs, a 16MHz quartz crystal, a USB port, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It operates at a voltage of 5V and has 32KB of FLASH memory, 2K of SRAM, and 1K of EEPROM. The board measures 68.6 x 53.4 mm.
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform, with both hardware and software designed to be easy to use. The platform is aimed at students, programmers, designers, hobbyists, and tinkerers, and has a large community surrounding it that provides support and resources.
Note that the USB cable and battery are not included in the package. At RS, there are three versions of the Arduino Uno Development Board available: 715-4081 Revision 3 for DIP package types, 769-7409 Revision 3 for SMD package types, and 847-4897 Revision 3 with long pins for DIP package types.
In the box, you will receive one Arduino Uno V3 board, which is powered by either connecting the board to a computer via a USB cable or an AC-to-DC adaptor. For more information on Arduino resources, visit http://labs.arduino.org/.
