This upgraded version features an ultra-high quality 8 megapixel Sony IMX219 image sensor, surpassing its predecessor’s 5MP capacity, and a fixed focus lens. Capture still images with incredible detail at 3280 x 2464 pixels, or record video at 1080p30, 720p60, and 640x480p90.

Connecting the camera module to your Raspberry Pi is effortless via the 15 Pin Ribbon Cable and the dedicated 15-pin MIPI Camera Serial Interface (CSI), capable of transmitting high data rates while exclusively carrying pixel data to the BCM2835 processor. The camera board itself measures a tiny 25mm x 23mm x 9mm and weighs only over 3g, making it ideal for mobile or weight-sensitive projects.
